I. Charles McCullough III. is an attorney in private practice in the Washington D.C. area. He was confirmed by the US Senate as the nation’s first Intelligence Community Inspector General (“IC IG”) in November 2011, and served in that capacity until his retirement from Federal service in March 2017. As IC IG, Mr. McCullough chaired the IC IG Forum, a group composed of all sitting Intelligence Community Inspectors General. Prior to serving as the IC IG, he was the Deputy Inspector General for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the Assistant Inspector General for Investigations and Special Inquiries at the National Security Agency/Central Security Service. He also served as the Senior Counsel for Law Enforcement and Intelligence at the US Treasury Department and worked for a decade as a Supervisory Special Agent and Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Mr. McCullough holds a law degree from the Dickinson School of Law of Pennsylvania State University, and a BA in Political Science from the University of Kentucky.
