Dr. Gretchen Stahlman is an Assistant Professor in the School of Information at Florida State University, where her research focuses on data curation, scholarly and science communication, knowledge organization, and the information infrastructures that support open science. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Arizona College of Information Science and previously served as a documentation specialist for the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) telescope project, alongside professional academic library experience. Stahlman co-organized an NSF-funded workshop on UAP/UFO communication in 2024 and subsequent 2025 workshop on analysis of UAP narrative reports at scale. Her current work applies information science methods to the study of UAP, examining UAP as both a socio-cultural phenomenon and an information organization and data quality challenge.
