Chief Information Officer

Lou Grossi is a founder, principal engineer, and technology leader with more than two decades of experience designing, building, and operating software platforms, cloud infrastructure, and technology organizations. His career has spanned software engineering, systems architecture, infrastructure, cybersecurity, DevOps, artificial intelligence, and technical leadership, with a particular focus on solving complex problems where technology, operations, security, and organizational strategy intersect.

As the founder of software and cloud engineering practices, Lou works with organizations ranging from early-stage companies to established businesses operating in highly regulated and technically demanding environments. His work includes designing scalable software systems, modernizing legacy platforms, building secure cloud infrastructure, improving engineering and deployment practices, and helping organizations establish technology foundations capable of supporting long-term growth.

He frequently works in environments where reliability, privacy, and regulatory requirements are central considerations, including organizations subject to frameworks such as HIPAA and SOC 2. His approach combines hands-on engineering with executive-level technology leadership, allowing him to move comfortably between strategic planning, system architecture, implementation, and operational execution.

In addition to his engineering work, Lou advises organizations on technology strategy, product development, infrastructure planning, cybersecurity, technical risk, and the practical adoption of emerging technologies. He has a particular interest in artificial intelligence and the ways AI can be integrated into software systems, organizational workflows, research, and decision-making without losing sight of security, reliability, and real-world operational constraints.

As Chief Information Officer of The Sol Foundation, Lou helps guide the organization’s technology strategy and oversees the systems, infrastructure, security, and technical capabilities that support its research, operations, and broader mission. His focus is on building a technology environment that is secure, resilient, adaptable, and capable of supporting the Foundation as its work and reach continue to expand.
